The Hanakapiai features a heavy duty organic hemp basket weave canvas exterior and is lined with a very soft 100% recycled polyester fleece lining. The Hanakapiai is dyed with non-toxic, low impact dyes and are formaldehyde and PBDE free.

Care

A ColcaSac sleeve will require close to no maintanence. If you get it dirty, we recommend spot cleaning it with a mild detergent and letting it air dry. Don’t machine wash or dry.

Story behind the name

The Hanakapiai beach is about two miles in (or 9 miles back) as you hike along the Kalalau trail in northern Kauai. The place is incredible, and is a nice resting spot for your tired feet. Curious thing, however, is the wooden sign with etch marks keeping tally on the 83 and counting deaths from the particularly capricious waves and currents. This may be the most convincing warning sign I’ve ever seen.
